November Memories

Prosit!

Here is the idea: the making of an object can be inspired by real life, but could the same object  become the guardian of those memories?
November Memories hat is a knitting pattern you can download (in italian and in english)  from Ravelry, HERE.
This time download is not free, which is not part of my usual policy, it is true, but I have half a mind to collect 12 projects, one a month, in a single publication and this one will certainly be included. I hope it is worth the money!

In support of the instructions I wrote this note:
"It’s November, when you realize summer is a fading memory, the nothern wind runs on a violet sea, I can smell the new wine and roasted chestnuts are sold in street corners. St.Martin’s summer (as we italians call indian summer, that we celebrate the 11th of November) brings back childish memories. Meanwhile daylight is shorter and some gloomy memories from the past give me a still sadness. These and others things I want to remember with all those cables in my hat."

What I have not written are the references to the music that I associate with this month, first of all November Rain by Gun'n'Roses that I love for the poetry of its lyrics. And November by Max Richter, which I listen with closed eyes because it catapults me on the vaporetto crossing the Venetian lagoon under a light rain. I'm there with headphones on my ears and I see nothing but sea and sky ...

But I do not want to limit my November to melancholy, because this month I also had fun, as when we use to make home beer: I was impatiently waiting for the temperature to lower so we could start fermentation, and the result was worth the wait. Who knows, one of my next November I could try again !!! Cheers!
